It's hard to get to bed before midnight here. I think the fast-breaking celebrations of Ramazan are part of the explanation. There's so much activity on the streets, it seems like it's much earlier in the evening than it actually is. The festivities don't keep me from sleeping, there's just so much to get done. I may be the last member of the Institute to accept the fact that there will be no catching up on sleep until I'm home.
It's nearly 1am here, and there have been many more sirens than usual amidst the celebratory sounds. Hoping all is well on the streets of Istanbul.
