July 22: Mehaba!

These photos appear elsewhere in the blog, but I have been so taken by this little girl that I wanted to give her a post of her own. We were in Balat, an Istanbul neighborhood that tourists don't generally visit.  Plenty of residents were watching us from behind their curtains, but this little one responded warmly to us when we called "mehaba" (hello).
